Will Williams is set to buy insurance agency agency for around $1 billion, with a focus on “emergency management”.
The investment will see the company’s global headquarters relocated to London and the company will be sold to the Australian Government.
Mr Williams said the deal would also see the creation of a “core team of more than 1,000 people” in London to support the operation of the new agency.
He said the investment was a significant milestone for the company, which was valued at more than $1bn.
“We’re delighted to be joining forces with Will Williams and will deliver a world-class, state-of-the-art agency to our global customers,” Mr Williams said.
“This will enable us to grow the business and accelerate the growth of our global network.”
Mr Williams will become the second major insurance company to invest in the Australian market, following a $1billion deal with National Australia Bank in 2015.
